What does “Made in the USA” mean on your label?

All of Anderson’s Maple Syrup is harvested, processed and packaged in the USA.  Even the apples for our Apple Syrup and the sugar for our 25% blended pancakes syrups.

The phrase “Made in the USA” is regulated by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).  Their definition is that the product must be “all or virtually all” made in the USA.  Any product that is imported MUST have a country of origin statement on the label, so always look for an origin statement, you will find that most Pure Maple Syrup is from Canada.

The phrase “Product of the USA” is regulated by the USDA which primarily oversees meat, poultry, and eggs.  Their definition is that the “product is processed in the USA”.  This does not mean that all ingredients were made in the USA and that is why we are proud to use the “Made in the USA” statement
